Help us recover from the loss of our dear Vincent

After a week of battling illness, my kitty Vincent passed on the night of June 23rd. He was born early June of 2017, which made him near exactly 7 years old when he left us.

He was my baby, my joy & my sunshine, and he was loved dearly by so many. His loss has left a hole in our hearts and our home feels empty in his absence.

We brought him home with us in 2017, because he would not stop purring. Nearly every day since you could hear his purrs across the whole room. We almost named him Sunny, because of how his fur glowed in the sunlight. Though we named him Vinny, I still always called him my sunshine boy. He loved gardening with us, sitting on the trash can when we cooked meals, and he always meowed back (loudly) when we talked to him.

He found joy in every little thing in life, autumn leaves and falling snow. He always made sure to smell every bouquet we brought home. He got grumpy on cloudy days when he couldn't warm himself in the window.

And the most important part, is that the top of his head was big and flat "the perfect place to put your kisses." He got kisses on his big orange head until the very end.

His big brother misses him dearly, and has been searching the house for him since we returned. It was never supposed to happen this way :(

Our household needs help with the vet bills accumulated over this last week, as well as support to make rent, since we put all our time and energy to caring for him while his condition worsened.

We would like to have some time to grieve without the stress of not being able to make rent looming over us.

We thankfully were able to pay for his cremation, but this has left us with very little money to work with for the rest of the month

Thank you so much to everyone on twitter who helped us thus far, we wouldn't have even been able to afford gas to get to the emergency vet if it wasn't for the kindness of strangers. He was able to go peacefully in my arms at the clinic because of this kindness, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Vincent was such a special cat, he was best friends with everyone who had the pleasure to meet him. I miss him so deeply, there will never be another who can fill this hole in my heart. Vinny will be my baby forever and ever, I wish more than anything to kiss the top of his head one more time.
