Help Us Remember Coach Kevin C. Bailey

Donation protected
We are the proud parents of Kevin C. Bailey, age 33. The saddest news was delivered to us that our eldest son was involved in a fatal auto accident between the times of approximately 10:50pm Wednesday night, July 31, 2024, and 7:00am Thursday morning of August 1, 2024.

Sharing this news with a few has spread faster than we could imagine. We have his phone and see the amount of concerned people communicating with such positive comments about our son has us so emotional it's overwhelming. Thank you! Thank you all so much for the kind words. We see and have read them all in the group chat and directly to his phone, and appreciate you all. The pouring in of offers of generosity is also very surprising and totally unexpected, so we were encouraged to start a GoFundMe in memory of Kevin (Coach Kevin).

Kevin was our vibrant, energetic eldest son of five children, so he had a lot of experience with kids and being a kid. He was as solid as they come; a family-oriented, helpful, and dependable son, beloved grandson, loyal friend, and devoted coach. Coaching was his passion. Despite his youth, Kevin, has sat on many-a-couch's seat either as the Assistant Coach or Head-Coach. Just Like Us... he can lose it and sometimes getting so emotionally into the game, he can easily be confused for a player or parent. His career dream was to one day coach an NCAA team to a championship. His immediate goals though was to coach his current team thru middle-school, into High School, in pursuit of their college "hoop dreams".

We can go on forever about what Kevin meant to us, but what he would want most at this moment is for us to tell all of his friends, colleagues, family, and especially... especially... his players on the youth basketball teams he's coached to know is, YOU ALL MEANT TO WORLD TO HIM. His mentors from the Knights like Coach Greg, Coach Dean, Coach Wiggs, Coach Ed and anybody we forgot. Always a competitor, his goal was to make an impact in sports and teach never ever quit.

Always the competitor, we're certain Kevin, fought as hard as he could in his last moments before succumbing to his injuries. Our son was a "man on a mission" but "a kid at heart". May God bless him death as he did in life. We love, and will miss and remember you forever.
