Help Us Save Garou!!

Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,

We find ourselves reaching out to you in a time of great distress and uncertainty. Our beloved furry family member, Garou, is facing a health crisis that has shaken us to our core. In the early hours of January 5th, Garou experienced a terrifying ordeal that left him fighting for his life. He screamed in pain and fell to the ground. Within moments, he was dead. Through sheer determination and love, we managed to revive him with CPR, but he was struggling for hours. He regained strength and we were hopeful that he would make a full recovery.

Despite undergoing extensive blood tests and heart scans, our veterinary experts remained baffled by Garou's condition. We hoped, in vain, that this would be a one time occurrence... Then, on the evening of March 23rd, tragedy struck again as Garou was once more gripped by excruciating pain and respiratory distress. His screams will haunt our nightmares forever. Our hearts shattered as we fought to bring him back from the brink, yet again. The hours that followed were filled with fear and uncertainty, as we grappled with the reality of our beloved Garou's fragile state!

We brought him to the veterinary clinic again. After many tests, we were informed that Garou has elevated liver enzymes and a 1.5cm mass in his liver, which could potentially be a stone. However, the equipment at our current vet office is not specialized enough to provide a precise diagnosis. Garou is now on medication in the hopes of diminishing the size of the stone and facilitating its passage. We have painkillers, anti-nausea medicine, and appetite stimulants to aid him. Our next vet visit is scheduled for April 22nd, where we'll re-evaluate his condition, check his enzyme levels, and determine if the stone has passed.

However, our vet has cautioned us that Garou's condition may deteriorate before our next appointment, necessitating swift action. If the stone persists, we'll need to consult specialists for an echography to better understand the nature of the mass and decide on the next course of action.

The financial burden of Garou's medical care is substantial. Today's expenses amounted to $477.77, covering consultation fees, preanesthetic assessment, tests, and medications. Looking ahead, our next appointment will cost at least $318. If the stone remains, the echography alone will cost $615, with additional expenses to follow depending on the results. Altogether, we anticipate needing $795.75 if everything progresses as planned, or up to $1503.00 if further interventions are required.

Garou is not just a pet; he is a cherished member of our family. His young age, cuddly nature, and role as Chloe's emotional support companion make him irreplaceable in our lives. We refuse to give up on him, but the financial strain is overwhelming.

We're doing everything within our means to cover Garou's expenses, including pulling funds from our RSP and TFSA. However, as we only started these savings last year, our resources are limited.

We humbly reach out to you, our community, in our time of need. Your generosity and compassion could mean the difference between life and death for Garou. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to ensuring that Garou receives the lifesaving care he so desperately requires.

Should our fundraising efforts exceed the cost of Garou's medical expenses, we will be directing any surplus funds towards our other cherished feline companion, Chevy. Chevy is scheduled for dental surgery, a procedure that may cost up to $1,300, but one that is no less important in ensuring his health and happiness.

(OUR BOYS! Garou to the left, Chevy to the right. he's twice the size of Garou!!)

We've set our starting goal at an optimistic $1,500, but any amount we receive will be met with the sincerest appreciation. From the depths of our hearts, we thank you for considering our plea and for any assistance you can offer. Your kindness shines as a beacon of hope in our darkest hour, reminding us that we are not alone in this fight.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Prime, Chloe and Garou
