Howdy Y'all!
Howdy Homemade is an ice cream shop in Dallas, Texas that employs adults with special needs. It is a magical place of happiness, hope and amazing ice cream. I have seen adults with autism, down syndrome and physical disabilities have a chance to learn, make mistakes, grow and achieve things many in the world think they can't.
COVID has hit this special place really hard in what should have been their biggest season - spring and summer. Their catering business hasn't come back and in store traffic has been terrible. They don't have a drive through and they don't have an ice cream truck. They are not covering their expenses right now and they need help to make it to next spring.
I am starting a GO FUND ME to help them cover operating expenses as they face even slower in store traffic in fall and winter. This will make sure no employees lose their jobs and help them with moving expenses to move to a smaller location with lower rent.
And the real dream for Howdy is to get them an ice cream truck...so they can be mobile and go all over Dallas Fort Worth...and take the ice cream to the people in a time when people don't want to go into stores.
Please join me in donating today to help them stay open and continue their mission of the relentless pursuit of jobs for adults with special needs!
We must SAVE HOWDY HOMEMADE!!!
Thank you thank you!!
Jaxie Alt - I am a Community Advocate for Howdy Homemade - all dollars raised will be given to Howdy Homemade LLC and be withdrawn and used by Tom Landis, Howdy Homemade Founder and Owner, to fund the activities mentioned above - cover operating costs through fall and winter when sales will be slow, the move to the smaller store and getting the smaller store ready for customers, and an ice cream truck so the store can be mobile and reach more people and create more jobs for adults with special needs.
