Help Us Save Lives
Friends,
I'm Shyamalee Kodituwakku, an artist and an entrepreneur born and raised in Sri Lanka, currently living in Canada. With the help of amazing, like minded people I'm coming forward to appeal for support to raise funds to provide some of the desperately needed medical supplies to the country. The local hospitals are in dire need of those supplies.
Sri Lanka is currently experiencing the worst economic crisis in its recent history. The country faces a nationwide shortage of essentials such as food, electricity, medicine, fuel/gas, etc. The low to middle-income classes, accounting for over 70% of the population, are impacted the most due to this situation.
Sri Lanka’s public health sector is gravely affected by fast depleting lifesaving equipment and medical supplies. Doctors across Sri Lanka fear a health catastrophe if international help doesn’t arrive soon.
The goal is to raise funds to assist the hospitals in Sri Lanka, with the guidance of the Health Ministry, to purchase essential medicines and medical supplies from suppliers approved by the National Medicines Regulatory Authority of Sri Lanka (NMRA) or WHO GMP & FDA approved products from India.
The contributions will be utilized for the purchase of, Antibiotic MEROPENEM FOR INJECTION and ONDANSETRON INJECTABLE (used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by Cancer Chemotherapy) and other medical supplies that are in shortage. Details will be furnished as and when the orders are finalized and ready for purchase.
If you are willing to join hands with me in this worthy cause, I request your kind contribution to make this effort a success. Even if you are unable to donate, please take a moment of your time and share. You will help save a life! Throughout the fundraising period, we commit to maintaining complete transparency of expenses.
A team of fellow Sri Lankans have volunteered to support me in this worthy cause:
- Rear Admiral (Rtd.) Jagath Premaratne - Sri Lanka Navy,
- Angela Fernando – Corporate Executive in Sri Lanka, and
- Iresh Perera – Sri Lankan living in Canada.
