Help us save our MS Centre
Donation protected
On August 2, 2016 the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada announced that they will be:
1) selling MS Centre in Victoria, a place that many of us call home
2) discontinuing the MS Physiotherapy Program, the only of its kind in Canada and
3) disbursing programs and services to other unknown locations or online.
Many of us who live with MS every day and use this centre see this as a both a cruel and harmful action.
The MS Society of Canada has not provided any information on where people with MS in Victoria and the surrounding area can go to participate in the many wellness programs that have been delivered through the MS Centre over the years. There has been no information to confirm these programs will exist once the building has been sold.
By selling the Centre and discontinuing services, the MS Society of Canada will be destroying a strong, healthy, supportive community; a community made of thousands of people with MS, their family members, caregivers, physiotherapists, and support workers. We believe the MS Society of Canada’s decision is not to the long-term benefit of people living every day with the disease. It is a decision that will reverse much of the great work of so many people over the past 50 years.
We are the people who use the centre and we are taking action to save our MS centre. Funds raised through this campaign will be used to help pay for the supplies needed to fuel our campain.
