Our hearts are heavy as we reach out for help. Tamara’s beloved 10-month-old French Bulldog, Vivian, has been fighting for her life — and we’re doing everything we can to give her the chance to come home.
It all began on Saturday, April 12, when Vivian started vomiting repeatedly. Though she continued to eat at first, her appetite eventually disappeared while the vomiting persisted. By Tuesday, April 15, we brought her to the vet, suspecting a blockage. But when they opened her up, they discovered something much more serious: a congenital defect that had caused a stricture in her intestines.
Part of her intestine had become necrotic and had to be removed. The surgery went well, and we had hope she was on the mend — but just a few days later, on Saturday, April 19, Vivian took a turn for the worse. A second emergency surgery revealed that while the initial repair was holding, her abdomen was still severely inflamed and filling with fluid. On Tuesday, April 22, she underwent a third surgery to place a drain in a final effort to allow her body time to heal.
Vivian is a fighter — and we are doing everything we can to support her recovery. But this has all come at the worst possible time. Tamara’s fiancé, Connor, is currently recovering from ACL surgery and has been without income for nearly three months. While they’ve been doing everything they can to make ends meet, this unexpected emergency has been a devastating hurdle.
As her mother, I’m doing all I can to help them both emotionally and financially — but I, too, am just beginning to recover after losing my 17-year career this past fall. This has been a difficult time for all of us, and we are simply trying to hold on and keep moving forward.
We’re humbly asking for help. Every little bit will go directly toward Vivian’s mounting veterinary bills and ongoing care. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing her story and keeping this sweet girl in your thoughts and prayers.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, support, and kindness.
