Help Us Say Goodbye to Guitar Legend Jerry Miller

Thank you Jerry Miller for an amazing friendship! You were the humblest and the friendliest rock star ⭐️ whom I’ve ever met. It has been a sad and devastating afternoon today. I mourn for you and your wife Jo and your children. Days and nights will turn into weeks before I can let go of the sadness. When that happens, I’ll smile for you and celebrate your life with pride, just as I did while you were amongst the living. It was a great honor serving you as your assistant manager and something that brought great pride to me. Thank you for that Jerry. I will always be listening and thus I never need to say goodbye.

I'm assuming a lot of you know that Jerry had to live show to show like we live paycheck to paycheck. For those of you who wonder why a man with so many hits struggled to make ends meet, there's a book called What’s Big and Purple and Lives in the Sea which details the 20-year history of manager and thief Matthew Katz stealing every penny of royalties, performance money, etc. Neither Jerry nor any of the other 4 members got paid. One other note: when the Jerry Miller Band played live, Jerry split the money evenly with the players in the band, taking the same cut as each of them despite him being the draw. He wanted his players to know they were just as valuable as he was. 

Sadly, his family needs help with the funeral expenses. We ask that you play a tune of Moby Grape's, or his solo music, and then donate what you can afford. Our goal only covers a small portion of the expenses associated with his death. Hopefully, that goal will be met and surpassed. Funds donated for this purpose will be deposited into the trust account of the Law Offices of Neil Sussman, and properly applied to cover the costs of Jerry’s death, and/or to reimburse his relatives for expenses they paid out of pocket prior to receiving these funds.
