Help us secure water for our farm by funding a borehole

Hello everyone, 

My name is Samiya. 

I'm 59 years old, and I come from a big family who lives in Somaliland. If you never heard about Somaliland, it’s a small unrecognized independent state that used to be part of Somalia. After the civil war in our area ended in 1991, I thankfully had a chance to buy 8.7 hectares of land in Burco City for farming purposes, which has always been my lifelong dream as I love gardening and farming and have little plants even inside my home.

Unfortunately, I couldn't start any project on the land until 2015, when with the help of my parents I was able to fence the land, build a room for the laborer and a water tank. But still, we were not able to farm due to lack of water until our neighbouring farm dug a borehole 2018 in their farm and started selling us water, at that time we bought fruit seedlings such as oranges, lemons, guavas, mangoes and grapes, and we started planting some vegetables and watermelon between the rows.

The farm looked like it was starting to prosper, but we find ourselves unable to progress because we still cannot get enough water due to technical problems and the high cost of the water bills. Thus the growth of my trees as and their production was affected and I sadly ended up losing most of them as they died because we had to prioritize between watering the trees or planting cash crops in order to generate enough money to pay the labour costs, water, fertiliser, and pesticide bills.  

Thus, I'm seeking your help to get out of this situation by digging a borehole for the farm, which would cost around 45K USD. Once we do that we would also be able to collect rainwaters and store it, thus become self sufficient.

Hopefully when that happens I can grow more trees, my farm will prosper, I will be able to give back to the community (e.g, provide water basins that neighbors can use to feed their livestock) and support the education of the children of the family.
