Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

It is with deep sadness that I share the passing of Mr. Serawit Gezahegn Dejene at just 45 years old. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual who dreamed of building a better life in the United States, not only for himself but for his loved ones. Tragically, his journey was cut short in just a few months of arriving here, leaving everyone in shock and grief. He has no immediate family members here in the US. My name is Dr. Beeletsega T. Yeneneh, and I am organizing this fundraiser so the family abroad receives Serawit's remains for a proper burial in his homeland, Ethiopia.

On behalf of the family, I am reaching out to ask for your support in helping me honor his memory by ensuring the family's wishes come true. As you know, the costs of transporting his body and arranging funeral services can be overwhelming, and his family back home cannot do this alone. Your generous donations, no matter the amount, will go directly toward covering the expenses of repatriation of his remains, his burial, and supporting his family in this difficult time. I will accept the funds and transfer all donated money to his older brother, Yohanns Gezahegn Dejene.

ኢትዮጵያዊ ወንድማችን አቶ ሠራዊት ገዛኸኝ ደጀኔ (ስመ ጥምቀቱ ክፍለ-ገብርኤል) ከከባድ የስደት ጉዞ በኋላ በሜክሲኮ በኩል ወደ አሜሪካ ገብቶ የነበረ ሲሆን፣ እዚህ ከደረሰ በኋላ በኢሚግሬሽን ቢሮ በሕግ ከለላ ሥር እንዳለ ባደረበት የጠና ህመም ፊኒክስ (አሪዞና) በሚገኘው ባነር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሜዲካል ሴንተር ለአንድ ወር ያህል በሕክምና ሲረዳ ቆይቶ በተወለደ በ45 ዓመቱ ረቡዕ ጥር 21/2017 ዓ.ም. (Jan 29/2025) ከዚህ ዓለም በሞት ተለይቷል።

የዚህ ወገናችን ቤተሰቦች አዲስ አበባ የተገኙ ስለሆነና በእነርሱ ፍላጎት መሠረት ከተቻለ አስከሬኑን ወደ ኢትዮጵያ በመላክ በሃገሩ ካልሆነ ደግሞ እዚሁ ፊኒክስ አሪዞና በክብር እንዲቀበር ለማድረግ የምትችሉትን የገንዘብ እርዳታ እንድታደርጉ በእግዚአብሔር ስም እንጠይቃለን። ስለልግስናችሁ በሙሉ ልዑል እግዚአብሔር ብድራቱን ይመልስላችሁ!
