Help us send some local army cadets to Cyprus
Donation protected
My Name is LT Kyle Beeston, Commanding Officer B Company, I work for Nottinghamshire Army
Cadet Force and it is my responsibility to Manage 6 Detachments and support all of our cadets and
instructors within my unit.
Army Cadet force Nottingham has been given a once in a lifetime opportunity, which will see us send
some of our Cadets to Camp Troodos in Cyprus October 2023.
During this visit the Cadets will take part in the following:
• Engage with the local Army Cadet Unit at Epi.
• Visit the Resident Infantry Battalion.
• Visit RAF Akrotiri and engage with elements from the 84 Sqn RAF.
• Cultural visits to local villages and historical sites
• Various AT (Adventurous Training) activities including scuba diving, sea kayaking, mountain
biking in the mountains, and much more.
• Representing UK Army Cadet Forces overseas
However, this trip does sadly come at a cost to the cadets and cadet force adult volunteers and in
particular the flights. As we are a very low priority for the armed forces, we cannot rely on military
flights as there could be a chance we lose our flight to a higher priority at very short notice.
We are therefore asking for donations to help fund this trip to allow young people from this area to
go abroad and take part in the above listed activities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the cadets that will be going. For nearly 50% of our cadets this will
be their first ever trip outside the UK and this can go on to give them first hand training and
experience if they then went on to join our armed forces in the future.
If your company is able and interested in donating or have any further questions, please reach out to
me on the link provided.
Since taking over B Company as Commanding Officer I have made it my mission to provide a cadet
experience like never before. I believe it is the input into a child’s life which helps determine their
future. We have recently had 102 cadets across Nottinghamshire complete a CVQO Level 2 youth
leadership and management qualification. We also have 100 cadets in my unit alone who have
completed up to date First Aid qualifications, which are skills these cadets can take into their
personal lives.
I have cadets within my unit from all paths of life some of which can’t afford a pair of boots, £25 for
a weekend camp, or the £75 fee for an 8-day annual camp. It is my aim to seek support from local
communities such as yourselves to enable us to offer this AMAZING opportunity, once in a lifetime trip
to Cyprus.
All support is greatly appreciated, we’re just excited to get to work! All paperwork is complete, and
planning has been processed, the next stage is to confirm the bookings of our flights and continue
our fundraising campaign.
On Behalf of the cadets, I Thank you for being a part of our community and our story.
