Help Us Start a Family After Tragedy
Donation protected
In March of 2021, my wife (Anita), an active-duty member of the Navy, and I (Mike), a former Marine, found out we were expecting our first child. We were overjoyed and eagerly awaited the arrival of our son, Homer. However, on Christmas day of the same year, our world came crashing down when Homer was stillborn via caesarean. The loss of our son was devastating, and Anita suffered several post-surgery complications, which further added to our pain.
The following year was a blur of grief and healing. Despite everything, we were determined to start a family and try for a second child. After months of trying, we discovered that we were experiencing "unexplained secondary infertility." Devastated but not defeated, we turned to IVF as our best hope for becoming parents.
Unfortunately, IVF is not covered by Anita's active-duty insurance, which means we have to pay for it out of pocket. We are asking for your help to cover the costs of $3,625 for egg retrieval and testing, and $20,091 for the IVF cycle.
As a military family, we have dedicated our lives to serving our country, and we now turn to our family and friends for support in fulfilling our dream of becoming parents. Any contribution, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to our goal. We thank you in advance for your kindness, generosity, and for being a part of our journey.
