Help us Support Alexis Through Her Neurosurgery & Recovery
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out for help as we navigate a difficult time and need support. Alexis is scheduled for neurosurgery on March 10th and March 14th in Orlando, FL. While we remain hopeful that this will improve her condition, it requires a hospital stay of at least two weeks, followed by an extended recovery period of at least two more weeks—possibly longer, depending on the surgery's outcome.
I will need to be by her side throughout this process, ensuring she receives the care and support she needs to heal. Unfortunately, this means I will be unable to work while she is in the hospital and during her recovery time at home. This loss of income, combined with mounting medical expenses, basic living needs, and travel costs, is overwhelming.
I’m humbly asking for any support you can give to help ease this financial burden. Donations will go toward:
• Medical expenses and ongoing care
• Essential bills and daily necessities during recovery
• Travel costs if needed.
Your kindness and generosity, whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, mean the world to us. We appreciate every bit of support as we focus on Alexis’s health and recovery.
On March 10th Alexis will be admitted to the hospital and will undergo a sEEG procedure. Electrodes will be placed into brain tissue to help determine where the seizures are firing off. At this time, they will also be removing her VNS implant that she had last Summer. Once these procedures are done, she will be admitted into PICU where the epilepsy team will monitor her closely. During this time, they will stop administering her regular meds to help induce seizures. She will be in the PICU all week. Based on the results, the neurosurgeon and her epileptologist will determine which neurosurgery will be done on March 14th. The surgical procedures that were mentioned based on her previous evaluations are Resective surgery, Disconnection surgery, or LITT. After the surgery, she will go back to PICU for at least 24 hours and then be transferred to a step-down unit for at least another week.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
