Help us support an orphanage in Afghanistan

To continue helping young Afghan boys, the Ehsas Orphanage in Kabul, Afghanistan, needs your assistance. The Ehsas Welfare and Social Services Organization (EWSSO) founded the orphanage, which is supported by contributions from kind people like you. For $15,000, the orphanage will be able to continue to take care of and provide and high quality education for 30 boys for more than 5 months.

Background

Over the past forty years, the war in Afghanistan has resulted in the devastation of numerous families and the abandonment of countless children. The recent events in Afghanistan have had a negative impact on the economy, and the rates of poverty and famine are at an all-time high, leaving many families unable to provide for their children. Ehsas orphanage helps these young children, some of whom are as young as 7 years old. Normally, these children would be forced into manual labor and kept out of school. These children are able to receive an education and have a normal childhood thanks to the efforts of Ehsas and their generous donors. By supporting the education of these children, you are paving the way for them to uplift their life and of the people around them and setting up a generational change.

Where does the money go?

The money raised in this campaign will go entirely towards operating the orphanage and providing the children with what they need. After providing the children with basic necessities like food and clothing the funds are used to cover the costs of their education such as tuition, books, and uniforms,. As of March 2022 the children all attend private schools during where they receive a high quality education and learn reading, writing, arithmetic, and computer literacy. A portion of your donations will also go towards providing each child with a small gift for Eid which includes clothes, shoes, and about ~$10 to purchase a gift to help bring their Ramadan to a cheerful end. The total cost per child amounts to about $100 per month to cover all their costs, with $15000 dollars we could support 30 children for 5 months. Ehsas Welfare and Social Services Organization is a reputable charity operating and registered in Afghanistan, alongside the orphanage they have been involved in emergency relief responses such as the earthquake in Paktika, orphan and widow support, education and Ramadan support programs.

About the fundraising team

We are young Afghans fortunate enough to be in a position to help these young boys. We ran a similar fundraiser in 2019, raising $6900 for an orphanage by the name of Esra which supported them for 3-months and we also collected over 11000 for ehsas orphanage last year which helped support them for more than 5 months. We have raised the goal this time and reach out to you, kind stranger, to help us make a difference.
