Help Us Support Families After a Dana’s Devastating Disaster

Hey, I'm Elu, and this is my first time ever creating a GoFundMe. I wish I didn’t need to, but the consequences of the disaster caused by Dana in Valencia, Spain, require all of us to do our best.

The situation is heartbreaking. There are 375,000 people affected, 75,000 homes destroyed, 1,900 people still missing, and 213 lives lost – and sadly, the numbers keep rising. Every hour is crucial. Many areas are completely isolated, with no electricity, no running water, and roads wiped out. The only access is by foot.

In the face of this devastation, the strength of our community has been overwhelming. Thousands of volunteers, including myself, are working tirelessly to coordinate aid and provide for those most in need. My friends, my sister, and I are personally buying as many supplies as we can to send directly to those who need them the most. We’re responding to specific requests from the ground, and this fundraiser will help us gather even more.

With these funds, we’ll purchase essential items to support both families (including their pets) and volunteers who are working tirelessly to clear streets, move debris, and deliver supplies. The needs are extensive, and we’re focusing on the following priority items:

- Food and Water: Canned goods, non-perishable food, and bottled water

- Hygiene Supplies: Masks, gloves, hand soap, and sanitation products

- Sleeping Essentials: Blankets and sleeping bags

- Power Supplies: Power banks with cables

- Lighting and Safety Gear: Flashlights, candles, lighters, and rubber boots

- Cleaning Equipment: Shovels, rakes, garbage bags (XXL), brooms, and mops

- Personal Care Items: Shampoo, hygiene products, diapers, and menstrual products

- Tools: Hammers, wheelbarrows, crowbars, and other tools for clearing debris

We are personally stationed at the collection point in Madrid to buy, organize, and send everything we can. Honestly, I’m willing to personally travel to Valencia to help if it is needed.

I know that, unfortunately, some fake fundraisers have appeared, which can make it hard to know what’s real. I want to assure you that this GoFundMe is managed by myself and my close friends. Every euro raised here will be used to buy the specific items listed above. I’m committed to making sure this aid is delivered responsibly and effectively.
