Thanks everyone for you’re generous donations.
Jaime is home and recovering. She has a long road of healing ahead of her between her emotional trauma and physical injuries. She currently has no use of her one hand because of the severity of the lacerations and will be seeing specialists for that as well as injuries to her shoulder and arm . She will be out of work for the foreseeable future which is not covered by insurance as well as none of the contents of the car will be covered .
We are humbled by your generosity, the phone calls, texts and cards.
Our hearts go out to all the victims of the flood , and we are grateful for the first responders for their efforts and the community for coming together to show kindness and compassion.
Jaime and Justin
Hello,
Jaime is a survivor of the flash flood that happened in Bucks County, PA. On Saturday, July 15th, Jaime was driving home from work when the water came. She called her husband in a panic and he advised her to hang up and call 911. She called 911 and they told her to get onto the roof of her SUV. When she opened the door to do so, the water instantly flooded her vehicle and as she tried to get up and out, the current took her from her car. She was pulled under and struggled to surface. She was able to grab onto a guardrail for a short time, but the current was too strong and she was unable to hold on. She was swept under again and was lucky to have been stopped by a downed branch almost a mile away from her vehicle. During that time, all she could do was pray and tell herself that she wasn't going to die. She didn't want her son and her husband to have to find her, so she fought. She was able to hold onto a tree with her foot, and as she was struggling to catch her breath, a car almost hit her. She luckily was able to climb further up into the tree and out of the way. There was a sixteen-year-old boy in that car, and he was able to break his way through the glass and ended up on the same branch that stopped Jaime. She was able to help the boy up onto the tree, where they both were stranded for three hours before being rescued. Jaime suffered from lacerations to her right hand from the guardrail and many bruises on her arms and back. She has a long road to healing and cannot use her hand.
Jaime is the owner of a custom, handmade jewelry company and will be out of work for the unforeseeable future. She is still recovering from a neck surgery that she had in February, which was necessary after being in a serious car accident back in September. Five years ago, Jaime was hit by someone under the influence of fentanyl and has suffered from chronic pain for five years. We can all say that she is a survivor and this is more than enough for anyone to have to endure.
Jaime is a true survivor and one of the strongest people that I know. She has been through so much, and due to the medical bills and now being unable to work, her family needs our help.
Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser, so that we can help them with their everyday needs and ease the worry of her not being able to work.
