Help Support Our Brother Ryan Smith

Hello All!! Ariana Moot here. I am one of Ryan Smith’s community of family and friends. I have started this gofundme to ask you to help support our beloved brother’s journey back to health over this next year. Currently Ryan is hospitalized in Knoxville, Tennessee and this past week has been scary and pretty touch-and-go. The doctors have determined that Ryan needs a lifesaving organ transplant.  His medical team is working on a transfer to the transplant center at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. One of the requirements for insurance coverage and this extensive care includes Ryan moving to Lexington for the next 6-12 months. During that time, a team of doctors will work to stabilize him while he awaits a transplant. His mother is working on getting him into an apartment, so he has stable housing while he gets the care he needs.

 

Ryan does not have family or friends who live in the Lexington area and most of his support system lives more than three hours away. Living in an apartment will allow those who love him to tag-team in and out to visit and be there for him. Companionship and support will help keep his spirits up and his body gaining strength.

 

As you can imagine this will be expensive. Not only the apartment, but the other bills and basic living expenses that will surely come as Ryan moves through this journey.

 

Individually none of us have the financial resources to pay for an apartment and these new expenses. However, together as a community, with each of us contributing what we can – We Can Make This Happen!
