Help us survive until we find a home❤️❤️

Hi, my name is Angela. My husband and I have a home improvement company that was booming last year BUT thanks to Covid, we had a hard time getting materials and an even harder time finding good employees. Just to get jobs done we hired all kinds of riff raff, even letting many of them live with us. It ended up doing way more harm than good. Not only were they stealing many many hours from us they were stealing materials and tools. We had no choice except to stop hiring crooks and drug addicts. We are still trying to get caught up on work from last year. We quit taking on new work because we have no idea when we can get to it. No new work means no new money.

 

Then there's the situation with our scumlord. We were renting from someone my husband had known since childhood. We had been there for 4 years. We did all kinds of work to the house that he ASKED us to do and never paid for. We had to buy drinking water for the 4+ years we were there. They kept promising to fix it but never did. As it started to become difficult to pay rent, we thought no big deal, they owe us anyway, we can work it out. Then when it became obvious that they were going to act like they didn't know us anything I applied for the emergency rental assistance. I was approved for them to catch up on our back rent but the landlord opted not to participate in the program and proceeded to evict us.

We have been looking for somewhere to live for the last 2 months and ran out of time. We are now staying in a motel and don't know how much longer we can afford it. The money we should be saving for a deposit and rent on a new place has to go to the motel, so it is a vicious circle.

 

I never in a million years thought that I would be in this place. It has been an extremely humbling experience. We have always been the one to help other people and here we are needing help with none to be found.

I can only hope on the good will and generosity of strangers. Everyone keeps telling me that God has a plan and I don't believe that plan is for us to be homeless.

My husband's family has gone above and beyond, trying to keep the business afloat. We've been so blessed for their financial, emotional and spiritual support. It just isn't their responsibility to keep pouring in to us without positive gain. So many circumstances keep knocking us back down. It's not fair to ask them to do more than they already have. My family is divided in two very distinct groups: "can't helpers" and "won't helpers ".  Thank God for Chris's family's continued support and their shared Love for Christ.

 

In addition to my husband and I, we have a 20 year old daughter with mental disabilities that is still in school and awaiting a decision on her disability appeal. Thankfully she has friends that she can stay with for 4 weeks. We need to have a home by the time her stay there is up. Our 25-year-old son was living with us at the time of eviction but yesterday he moved 2 hours away to start his own life. We are very proud of him and his situation is one good thing that has come from this.

 

If someone could just help with the motel then we could save money to get back on our feet. We have horrible credit and now an eviction so finding someone to rent to us is so hard. We need a miracle!

If we could get stable even in an efficiency, I could get to work and help our situation tremendously. I've started a new job that is straight commission but I believe in myself and the company. If I could just focus, I could work. Moving our stuff day to day makes it impossible.

PS I just got set up to work in the motel room (pic attached) and I don't care if I have to move it everyday, I'm going to work as hard as I can. I can't expect anyone else to help me if I'm not helping myself. Here's to SALES
