Help us tell FRANCO'S STORY!

On the 7th of September 2019, our family received the most heartbreaking and devastating news. The news we never thought we would ever receive in our lives. I lost my nephew, my sister lost her child, my brother-in-law lost his son, my niece lost her brother and my mother lost her grandson. His name is Franco D’este and he was 20 years old, he went out with his friends and never came home, he was murdered by a gunshot and the person who shot him was a 22-year-old boy from Cape Town, South Africa.
Franco was and still is such a light to so many people, he was an entertainer who loved people and loved to dance. He had dreams, goals and aspirations to become someone in this world before all of it was taken away from him. Franco started hip-hop dancing at the age of 10 years old and when he was 11 he attended the World Championship Hip Hop competition in Germany and by no surprise he came 2nd in the world. He was small but had an ENORMOUS ENERGY! Words are not enough to express or describe the type of person Franco was on this earth, and how we as a family feel about his tragic loss. All we know is that we will never be the same. We have started the process of a documentary called “LET’S BE FRANK” which we have linked to our GoFundMe page for the sneak peek preview, to not only show everyone who Franco was and the life he lived but also to reach out to as many people as we can and bring awareness of how rife gun violence and crime is, not just in our country alone but internationally, as this is a worldwide problem we face daily. Funds raised will be going to the Production of the Let's Be Frank documentary created and produced by Mad Little Badger.
We also know many families might have gone through these tragedies and have not had the opportunity to tell their stories. We don’t want Franco’s death to just become another statistic, we want his story to reach as many people as it can, so his story can make a difference! We are still undergoing the murder trial almost 4 years later.
We appeal to anyone that would be willing to donate to our cause and let our story be heard! You could also help us raise funds towards the documentary by buying merchandise on our online store as follows:
