Help Us Tell Oscar's Story: Danseur
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Amy and I'm the producer of Danseur - an upcoming short documentary about the boy's ballet scene in Belfast, namely one boy in particular: Oscar Hunter.
All five of us are students at Queen's University and along with our director: Susie Loane, our editor: David King, our cinematographer: Yongcuo DaiQing and Eimear Reavey: our location manager and production designer, we want to bring Oscar's story to the screen in hopes that it will help to inspire other young people that may be too scared to follow their passion
Our documentary follows follow Oscar's journey as he manages the demands of his education, his social life, and the competitive realm of ballet, after having hidden his passion from his parents and friends for a long time. We will explore how the backdrop of prevailing societal expectations and entrenched notions of masculinity in Ireland, has affected Oscar. It's all defintely challenging terrain at just 17 years old.
We ask for your help in telling this story! Donations will go towards transport, food, choreography costs, film festival entries and anything else that happens to come up on the way! Shares and donations of any amount will help immensely, thank you for taking the time to read this!
