Help us TNR a feral cat colony in Belmont-Craign
Donation protected
Hello!
A fellow neighbor and I are trying to fundraise to help us cover costs for a TNR a feral cat colony on our block that has seemed to rapidly multiple recently. TNR stands for Trap-Neuter-Return, it's the humane approach to addressing community cat populations. It saves cats’ lives and is effective. TNR improves the lives of cats, addresses community concerns, reduces complaints about cats, and stops the breeding cycle. TNR improves the co-existence between outdoor cats and humans in our shared environment.
This past month we started TNRing(we got 4 cats done), and just this past week we were able to access the yard where majority of the colony lived. We trapped an additional 15 adults and 8 kittens. The kittens had bad URIs and are currently being treated for them while we wait for a shelter to intake them. We also had one female give birth in her trap right before her TNR appointment at Treehouse Humane Society! We have her set up in a large crate with her two babies and will TNR her once the babies are weened. Funds will go directly to the cost of the TNRs (which includes:
-Ear Tip
-FVRCP vaccine - 1 year
-Rabies 1 year vaccine
-Microchip (24 Pet Watch)
-Selamectin (single dose)
-Spay or Nueter), medicine for the kittens, and a general supplies that were needed(large crate for the mom, food, peepads, etc.
