Help us to bring Papa home from the hospital

Hello everyone. My name is Jasmin De Jesus-Lucas. I am the daughter of Felicisimo R. De Jesus. I am reaching out to all of you on behalf of our family (my mother, brothers, and sister) for my father, who is still in the ICU.

On June 15, Philippine time, my 76-year-old father was rushed to the hospital due to difficulty breathing. He was given CPR on the ambulance as the medical staff were unable to locate his pulse and continued CPR until they reached the hospital. 

He was out for 5 minutes, but emergency staff didn't lose hope. They continued doing CPR until my father came back to life. He was admitted to the ICU with mechanical ventilation as he is in a coma.

The doctor already told us that my father would last up to 4 days, and we are very devastated to hear about it, but we didn't lose hope. Came the day the doctor said, and my father was still alive. From that time on, we said that our father was fighting, and so were we.

Then the Doctors ran some tests and found out that my father has pneumonia. They also found that his heart was enlarged.

Now in the second week since he was admitted, he can no longer stay on a mechanical ventilator, so TRACHEOSTOMY was advised, but with risk (due to his weak heart and his age). We decided to do it, and it was successful (my father is a fighter).

Everything went well, including his pneumonia, except that his heart is still weak and he is still not awake.

He underwent a CT SCAN to see if his brain was damaged, and thankfully it wasn't. He also went for ENDOSCOPY AND COLONOSCOPY (with high risk again) due to bleeding, and again, because he is a FIGHTER, it was successful.

He celebrated his 77th birthday in the hospital on July 12, and now that it's been more than a month, he is still in the hospital and has not yet awakened, but we are still hopeful that someday he will wake up.

Our Papa (father) is ready to go home even though he is not yet awake so as not to get any illness or infection from the hospital, but we need to settle the hospital and doctor's fees (he is still in the ICU).

All of our savings and financial support from our parents sides were already used, and nothing was left. Bills are continuously piling up (as of now, July 27: 1 million Philippine Peso or CAD $25,000), and we don't know where we are going to get them. Not all people in the Philippines have insurance; some people might have it, but it can't cover all the expenses.
