Help us to raise money on behalf of Matthew McRae
Donation protected
On August 25th, around one in the morning, Matthew McRae and one other passenger were in a serious motor vehicle crash in Salt Lake City, Utah, while on vacation. Matthew was a passenger in a ride-share at the time of the crash. Matthew, another passenger, and the operator of the ride-share were all transported to the hospital with severe injuries. The crash left Matthew in critical condition in the ICU, with several broken bones including a broken neck and spinal injury. The operator who struck the ride-share vehicle was placed into custody on "suspicion of DUI".
Matthew has been a State Trooper in Massachusetts for four years and previously was a local police officer for three years. In the performance of his duties as a State Trooper, Matthew has dedicated his life to serving and protecting the people of the Commonwealth. For those who know Matthew, we can agree that he is a generous and fun-loving person. He has helped so many people within his personal and professional life, now it is time to help him.
The goal of this Go Fund Me is to raise money for a potential medical transport flight as well as any care he may need as he progresses. The expenses for Matthew’s medical treatment and other unforeseen costs may be significant and any little bit will help. As of Sunday August 27th, Matthew remains in critical condition in the ICU. Even if you are unable to donate to this fund, we please ask that you share this page and say a prayer for Matthew.
Lastly, we extend our deepest gratitude to all the first responders who took care of Matthew and the other victims of this horrific crash. Special thanks to the Salt Lake City Police Department, the Utah Highway Patrol, and the University of Utah Hospital, “thank you.” Additionally, we thank the State Police Association of Massachusetts for all the guidance through this difficult time.
