Helle everyone,
I'm Marwa Mhanna, an operations manager at the Delia Arts Foundation, and my husband, Ahmed Al Taweel, is an architectural engineer. We are Palestinian residents of Gaza, blessed with our wonderful daughter, Hana, who just celebrated her third birthday on April 6th.
Unfortunately, the past seven months have been incredibly tough for us marking a significant turning point for our family. We used to have a simple, happy life, making beautiful memories in our small home. We had plans for Hana, including her own bedroom and enrollment in a new kindergarten. Ahmed was gearing up for a new job, and I was excited about implementing new projects at work.
But when the war started on October 7th, 2023, everything changed.
We were forced to flee our home with nothing, hoping to return within days. Yet, 218 days later, the war and its atrocities continue.
We faced severe hardships—lack of water, electricity, medicine, education, privacy, high prices and no source of income. I was sleeping in a crowded room with 17 others, while Ahmed braves the cold weather on the balcony and now, he suffers from high temperatures, the spread of insects, and epidemics. . Hana has fallen ill multiple times due to contaminated water and harsh conditions, and I've been unable to provide her with proper medical care.
We've lost everything—our home, jobs, dreams, and even the safety of being with our family. It's too dangerous to reunite with loved ones scattered across different locations.
Regrettably, on March 10th, I had to leave Gaza with Hana because we couldn't afford the fees to leave with Ahmed who is still suffering from the same challenges . I had to gather $7500 just to get us out and keep Hana safe from the war's dangers. Now, Hana misses her dad every day, and we're struggling without any source of income.
As Hana started to understand the scary things happening like loud explosions and bombings, she got really scared at night. She began acting out more, sometimes being sharp and even violent, and she started wetting the bed. Now, with me and Hana away from Ahmed in the dangerous situation in Gaza and dealing with the aftermath of the war. Hana keeps asking where her dad is, and it's making us both really unsure about what's going to happen.
We urgently need your help to reunite with Ahmed and rebuild our lives. Your kindness can give us the resources to overcome these challenges and start fresh with hope. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to a better future, free from fear and uncertainty.
Thank you for caring and supporting us.
