South Central LA doesn’t have enough healthy markets that serve Black customers and the diversity of customers. Revolutionario wants to transform into a hybrid healthy market and prepared foods restaurant. Our prices can be even lower for healthy, delicious foods.
There are a lot of restaurant fundraisers online. Our’s is a little different. We are raising funds to transform our dining room into a healthy market that serves the diverse economic needs. We believe that food security isn’t such subsistence level food. This is why we will also have special foods and very good prices. We will also have a free food shelf and a pay what you can model for some of the foods. As always, we will give a free hot meal to anyone who is hungry, but cannot afford to pay.
Many of you know that we transformed our dining room into a food bank in February 2020. From February to the end of August, we will have distributed $1,000,000 worth of food and personal items. We have managed to turn a few $ into a lot of $$$. We have a lot of supporters and it’s growing. Our food bank is thriving.
Now it’s time to think about our restaurant’s long term business model in this time of covid-19. In this era of Pandemic. We must address the New Normal, which will be with us for a long time.
We believe that transformative adaptation is economically viable for Revolutonario as a business. We need some assistance for transformation costs like retail refrigerators, retail shelving, new signage, and making our space covid-19 compliant with plastic or glass barriers.
We also have a lot of confidence that once we get our story out, we will have angel backers and even bigger support. We have already been in touch with angel funders.
