Help us with Seb’s medical bills and recovery

(UPDATE 1.11.23)

Sebastian is continuing to improve.

From a health stand point he is doing really well. The doctors were able to find and treat some complications he had. He had an infection in his blood stream as well as pneumonia. But these have been treated and he is on the road to recovery.

He is still dealing with a lot of confusion and some big mood swings. These symptoms I’ll be a long journey to recovery but already he’s showing signs of improvement.

He really just wants to leave the hospital now.

The hospital bills alone are already at about 100k AUD. So thank you so much to all of you for your donations and support.

We are hoping to have confirmation from the doctor this week for an exact date we can fly him home.

Air ambulance is looking out of the question at this point. We are leaning towards a commercial flight with a medical team present. This is still an expensive process and will be a long journey home but I’ll be with him every step of the way.

I will update when I know an exact date of the flight home.

(UPDATE 27.10.23)

Sebastian has spent the last week coming out of his induced coma.

He is now talking, eating, breathing on his own and starting to walk again with the help of physical therapy.

The surgeons and nurses are all shocked at how fast he is recovering and they are all meeting our cheeky boy properly for the first time and falling in love with him.

None of us thought this would happen this quick.

Each day is a huge improvement from the last but still involves a new set of challenges.

He is still a bit confused and frustrated at times but mostly he is laughing and making everyone around him laugh.

The next step will be trying to figure out an exact date of when to fly him home.

We will be getting updates from the surgeon today and when he thinks the right time for Seb to fly home will be.

I’m so happy to have my little brother back.

Firstly just want to say thank you to everyone for you support so far. Words are not enough to describe how we feel about this.

secondly, we have been given a quote to fly him home. It is estimated at $283k AUD. This could change.

Given the generosity we have experienced so far I have increased the goal to something more realistic.

Keep praying and sending your love to him through the cosmos.

Hello everyone,

Our beloved Seb has recently been in an accident whilst on his travels in Vietnam.

He suffered severe fractures to his skull as well injury to the brain.

He is stable, but currently in an induced coma.

He has had to have brain surgery earlier this week, with more surgeries to come in the near future.

His family are with him in Vietnam and are required to pay all medical bills up front.

So far, over 30k has been fronted and we expect this to continue to rise.

We also foresee money being needed to fly him back home when the time comes.

The costs are very high and any donation would really help to support future surgeries and recovery.

We are so thankful for all the love we have received from everyone so far. It's amazing to see how loved and supported he is.

We will keep everyone posted on how he is progressing and continue to stay positive.
