Hello family and friends,

Thank you so much for coming to this page and being a part of our circle. This is way outside of both of our comfort zones, but the reality of our situation is fertility treatments are very expensive, so we want to take some time to share a little about our story and seek your help. We have been trying to conceive for over 3 years now but have dreamt of being parents for the majority of our adult life. We got pregnant but sadly experienced a loss in July of 2022, this put us in a depressed state for a while, but we didn’t give up. Although our child is in heaven, there is not a day that goes by that we don't think about our sweet angel baby. We have been through many obstacles from the medicated route to the natural route, but our faith is big, and we are looking forward to our rainbow baby in God's perfect timing. We have gone through multiple rounds of medicated support as well as two rounds of IUI (intrauterine insemination) but due to the dreadful “unexplained infertility “the doctor has diagnosed Raquel with all these attempts have been unsuccessful. We have spent roughly $7,000 out of pocket so far on the various procedures and medications because our insurance as teachers does not cover any fertility-related procedures sadly. Although we have been through so much, we have multiple scriptures we are leaning on and we know God's promises so it's happening, it may not happen the way we planned but it's in God's plans and his path. We are. so very thankful for doctors, scientists and the medicines that they create, we believe God gave these medical personnel the vision to help and so with that being said we want to share the next steps with you ...

The plan:

We are at the point of considering IVF (in vitro fertilization), now if you know anything about IVF there is very high chance of success rate of bringing home a baby. We have even considered picking up part time jobs in which the insurance covers IVF partially. The cost alone has deterred us however we know we have support circled all around us. We are creating this fundraiser to support our dream of being parents. IVF Information/Data: In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is when a woman’s mature egg(s) are collected from the ovaries and fertilized, then either transferred into the woman’s uterus or frozen for a later transfer. IVF success rates are not 100%, but closer to 50-60%. Like mentioned earlier, IVF is not covered under most health insurances including ours. The cost of IVF is normally about $15,000 to $20,000 plus the cost of medications which is about $6,000 to $8,000. The program we are considering is called the Shared Risk program. Here is some information on the shared risk program. Patients selecting this program may attempt up to 6 IVF cycles and any subsequent frozen embryo transfers (FETs) for a flat amount ($30,000). In the event the attempts are unsuccessful, or the patient chooses to withdraw at any time, 100% of the deposit is refunded. Pregnancy success rates in this program are comparable to the results of all IVF and donor egg cycles. Patients achieving a pregnancy on the first attempt will pay more with this program than the traditional fee-for-service payment methods. On the other hand, if you don’t take a baby home, the Fertility clinic assumes the bulk of the costs, hence the name, “Shared Risk.” Though Joshua and I have made a conscious effort to save everything we can, it simply will not be enough. We have been asked by friends and family if we would be asking for or allowing donations. So, we have decided to do a puzzle fundraiser for those of you who would like to donate. We want to have a way to commemorate your support. Please do not feel obligated to donate. Your prayers, well wishes and support are greatly appreciated.

How you can help:

For our fundraiser, we wanted to do something that we can look back on and cherish for years to come. With that being said, we will purchase a puzzle that has lots of pieces. Each piece will represent the individual/couple who donated to help us. Here is how the puzzle fundraiser will work: • Each puzzle piece will be $25 • You can choose to buy as many pieces as you would like. There is no limit! • Your name will be written on the back of each piece • Along with your donation, please let us know what name(s) you would like on the piece(s). Once our puzzle has been completed, we will frame it and hang it in our future nursery. This will be a beautiful keepsake for us to cherish forever! We will always look back and be reminded of your generosity and love for our family! You will be a part of completing the missing piece to our puzzle! We are only sharing with our family and closest friends for respect of our privacy as this is a very touchy subject. We would truly appreciate any support offered.
