Vulvas are Vivacious - Help us celebrate the vulva!

Do you have a vulva? Do you aspire to have a vulva? Maybe you love your partner's vulva? Maybe you are just a huge fan of the VULVA!

Some of us link shame and anxiety to talking openly about the vulva. In many languages, the word pussy is still an offensive slur and a curse word, it is associated with weakness, cowardice and filth. Vulva also has an established connection, across endless stories and cultures, to childbirth, sex, menstruation and women. But the Vulva is more than that!

Help us celebrate the Vulva and support artists who are working to destigmatize this important aspect of anatomy. Join us in our mission to open up the conversation about Vulvas and to reclaim the word "pussy" as a symbol of strength and celebration.

Support the "Viva la Vulva Festival" by donating to our fundraising effort. Your contribution will help cover the costs of performers' fees, venue expenses, marketing costs, and decorations for the event taking place on March 11th, 2023 in Amsterdam.

*Bef comes from the word Beffen, which means eating pussy in Dutch. Remember this beautiful and important word.

*About Art Installation; Kutsmoesjes, by Alana van der Valk & Annebel Vernooij

'Kutsmoesjes' is part of the art installation 'Nudes' made by Collabsletten. An artist duo consisting of Annebel Vernooij and Alana van der Valk, because only together you can dismantle the patriarchy. In 2021, the two visual troublemakers made the animation trilogy Nudes, exposing just as much as you would expect. This work includes a series of 'kutsmoesjes'. Kutsmoesje is a Dutch wordplay, which translates to a 'bad excuse', which magnifies the negative image of the word pussy. Whatever bad excuse these colorful vulvas want to tell us, we would love to receive these in our DMs, with consent of course! @collabsletten

About Art installation RUG

Artist-duo Melyn Chow and Kim Zeevalk combine the visual and the sensorial experience of the erotic, through video installation. Creating situations where the spectator is invited to interact with the videos in ways that emphasize intimacy and playfulness. Rug is an invitation to touch and celebrate hair.
