Help Valencia recover from DANA - major flooding tragedy
Donation protected
My name is Sofia Jones Climent and I am from Valencia, studying at the University of Liverpool. I have created this GoFundMe to raise funds to help my hometown recover from the worst flooding disaster recorded in Spain this century.
On the 29th of October, flash floods (caused by DANA) struck the south-east region of Spain, affecting Valencia the worst.
Hundreds have died, including children, and many more are missing.
The town of Chiva saw more than a year's worth of rain fall in just eight hours.
DANA is the most deadly natural disaster in Spanish history.
The lack of warning and inadequate response from the Spanish government has left Valencians stranded, having to fend for themselves - these are desperate times and Valencia needs all the help it can get.
It is truly heartbreaking to witness the destruction and harm that DANA has caused to my hometown.
Being so far from home means the main way I can help is by raising funds to support local relief efforts. All contributions will be given to charities such as the Red Cross, Cáritas, animal shelters and food banks.
Any donations are greatly appreciated.
