Friends of Valerie Groomes (from Chapelstreet Church in Geneva) are raising funds for the funeral cost of Valerie's mother, Arvella Hall (Thomas), also affectionately known as Jean or Vea.
Valerie has been lovingly caring for her mother since she moved from Pennsylvania to Illinois in 2015. Arvella was rushed to the hospital on June 18 after a fall and becoming unresponsive. Arvella was discharged from the hospital to be cared for at home, but sadly, on Sunday, July 5, Valerie’s mom was rushed back to the ER because of uncontrollable hemorrhaging. After further testing, Arvella was placed in the care of in-hospital hospice as her Heavenly Father is calling her home. With the help of much-needed prayers from family and friends, Valerie and her sister have been doing all they can to make their mother’s last days as peaceful and comfortable as possible. Not only are they having to deal with emotional and painful decisions about the logistics of their mom’s funeral, they are also facing huge financial burdens.
Arvella has three children and was married to Donald Hall for 46 years until his death in 2004. Valerie has been a dedicated daughter and loving pal to her mom. It was Arvella’s hope to be returned to Pennsylvania to be buried next to her husband. We prayerfully ask that you find it in your heart to join together to provide them with much needed monetary support to bury Arvella in Pennsylvania. We recognize that many are under financial stress due to the COVID-19 pandemic and are immensely thankful for any contribution you are able to provide. All proceeds will go towards the costs of returning Valerie’s mother home for proper burial and funeral costs.
