Help Van pay her aneurism medical expenses

Van is an intelligent, sweet, 24-year-old teacher of English in a small town in Si Sa Ket province, in the eastern part of Thailand. On Sunday, 21 March, she became ill and was rushed to the local hospital. There she was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurism. The local hospital staff stabilized her as well as they could and immediately transferred her to a larger, better-equipped regional hospital.
Van has now had two brain surgeries, both of which were successful, but her doctors say that she needs at least one more surgery in order to recover.
Van is from the province of Surigao del Norte in the Philippines. She has no family in Thailand to help her. If sufficient funds are raised, we will help pay the expenses for Van's mother to come to Thailand to see her daughter and care for her.
Van is currently in a ward to minimize cost, so she has no dedicated nursing staff to care for her. She is heavily sedated to keep her from moving too much and risking further injury. Filipinos, who are well-known for their generous spirit and social cohesion, have organized a team of local volunteers to sit with her around the clock as she slips in and out of consciousness.
As a Filipina, Van is responsible for all of her own medical expenses. Van did not have any health insurance, so she and her family must now bear the entire burden of Van's medical cost, which at this point has come to a substantial sum by Philippine or Thai standards. As she and her family are unable to pay her emergency medical bills, the third surgery must be postponed until sufficient funds are raised.
