Help Fund Vanessa’s Debut Solo Exhibition

Hello, my name is Vanessa and I am a self taught painter from the Bronx in New York City.

The goal of this campaign is to raise funds which would be used to execute my first solo exhibition as a painter, which I plan to have in the heart of the Chelsea art district in midtown New York, NY.

As a person who did not formally study art in school or any university, this would pretty much be my head first dive into the heart of the art world here in New York. I am not represented by a Gallery, and my show experience thus far has been in a few group shows I have participated in since 2021.

I am excited and believe I am ready to take this next step to introduce myself to this space, share my work, receive honest feedback, and hopefully meet new creative peers, mentors, collectors, and friends through this experience.

Show Costs

Peerspace show room and equipment rental - $2000

Complementary refreshments for guests/supplies for drinks - $500

Professional Photographer - $200

Transportation of paintings and supplies - $100

Show advertisement (posters, flyers, boards, which i’ll put around midtown) - $200

The remainder of the funds would go to art supplies to complete 2 large pieces I have planned for the show

Why are you asking us for money?

I am a person who is fortunate to be a full time employed engineer. I currently live with my brother and mom, and I make just enough to cover rent, mortgage, food, and bills. All other money I have goes directly to debt and painting supplies. Commission work and street art sales are how I’m able to stack up some coins to put towards my passion of painting. But this campaign is to help me get over that final pay wall to make this show I’ve been thinking of for years, a reality.
