Help Vanessa Fight for Her Life: Support Her and Her Family
Donation protected
My beautiful sister, Vanessa Salazar, is facing the unimaginable. Just days ago, she went to the hospital with chest pain and a rash, something we thought might be a small concern. But in an instant, our world changed forever. Vanessa was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). She was immediately transported from Maui to Oahu, where she’s now been admitted and will remain for at least the next month, to begin her fight.
Vanessa isn’t just a mother, sister, daughter, and friend—she’s a dedicated nurse and an advocate who has spent years caring for others. As a union representative for UNAC/UHCP, she’s worked tirelessly to support her colleagues and her patients, always putting others first. Now, she’s the one who needs our love and support more than ever.
Her fiancé, Alan, and their precious one-year-old son, Amari, are by her side on Oahu, doing everything they can to keep her spirits strong during this devastating time. Alan has put his own work on hold to be there for Vanessa and care for Amari, but the financial strain is overwhelming. With unexpected expenses piling up for transportation, temporary housing, and daily living costs—on top of the medical bills—they’re facing an incredibly tough road.
Vanessa has always given so much of herself to others, and now it’s our turn to be there for her. We’re asking not only for donations but also for your prayers—especially knowing that Vanessa’s faith is her foundation. Every bit of support, every share, and every prayer is a reminder to her that she is not alone, that a whole community stands beside her in faith, love, and strength.
Every donation, share, and prayer will go directly to helping keep her family by her side during this fight. Your support will remind Vanessa that she is not alone—that an entire community stands behind her, holding her up and cheering her on.
Thank you for standing with Vanessa and our family during this heartbreaking journey.
