Help Vanessa's Family Have a Joyful Christmas

Please help Vanessa, her sisters and cousins, have a Merry Christmas 2024!

Many of you are aware that I help out 2 Mexican families and 2 Guatemalan families at Christmas time. I met these families initially when they worked outside picking crops in the hot sun on the plant nursery/farm, of a family member.

These 4 families are really living on the margins of society. I absolutely know they are food insecure throughout the year - even with jobs working on farms and even with food stamps. I know for a fact, sometimes the parents have gone without meals so their kids can eat.

I took it upon myself starting in 2021, to buy Christmas gifts for the kids and for two of the families (the Guatemalan families), I buy Noche Buena dinner for them.

If I don’t buy gifts for the kids or Noche Buena dinner - I absolutely know the kids have nothing under the tree on Christmas morning. I know they do nothing. That breaks my heart - so I started these GoFundMe’s.

For those mentioning Toys for Tots - Toys for Tots stops giving out gifts in Miami-Dade County on December 18th. They don’t hand out toys on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

The problem is prices keep going up. Noche Buena dinner that was $250 in 2021 is now $350 - and that’s even switching to a cheaper restaurant.

I shop at Big Lots, Walmart, Burlington Coat Factory, Marshalls and Ross to get the cheapest toys and/or clothes - but with 14 kids that I’m buying for - it adds up.

I am also out of work this year - although I am interviewing - so wish me luck! Point being - I don’t have a lot of personal funds to spare.

I ALWAYS keep receipts and explanations for what I’m buying. Every year. However, it’s a pain to post up to 30 different receipts on GoFundMe through individual jpegs. So what I do is I scan the receipts and explanations into a “master” PDF. If anyone ever wants receipts and explanations, they can contact me and I will send them the master PDF.

IF there are any funds leftover (in 2022, and 2023 - there were no leftover funds - in fact, I made up the difference with my own money) - I buy the kids school supplies for when school starts up again in January 2025.
