Help Vanilya Bakery Thrive: New Ovens Fund
Donation protected
Vanilya Bakery has been part of the South Phila community for over ten years. We have been through so much together. From day one you have seen my children grow. Some of you held my kids while I packed your bags, now they are the ones that help me at the window and pack yours. You have also included me in all your celebrations through weddings, births and so many fun special occasions. You have become my family in many ways. Offering to help whenever I was in need. Especially when I would be stuck there late. Thank you for the encouraging words, the plates of food that helped me work through the night. I am so grateful for everyone’s support in making Vanilya Bakery the success it has been.
It is with great sadness that I must reach out to you. For the past year and a half our ovens have been giving us endless problems. They have been repaired nine times during this time. Costing thousands of dollars. We are at a point where they need to be replaced. We are at risk of closing until we can find the funds to replace them. I don’t want our story to end here. It’s not in my nature to give up.
Your contribution to this Go Fund Me campaign will help keep our doors open with no disruption to our business. We currently have an extraordinary team. I do not want any disruption in their hours/pay. They are part of my family and it’s important that I do everything I have to keep Vanilya open. Through the generosity of other business owners, we are baking our products in various kitchens. This is temporary and not sustainable, and it causes a disruption in their business while we are there during their business hours. Also, as the weather gets colder the product losses its integrity in transit.
I believe in community and the strength that comes from it. By supporting this campaign, you are not just replacing ovens. You are investing in Passyunk Ave, you are sustaining my employee’s jobs and ensuring that we are around for another ten years.
How are we using the funds:
Two new ovens to replace the ones that are down.
Electrician expenses
Delivery, Installation and disposal of old ovens
Once the ovens are up and running, we want to give back to our community with a bagel brunch block party in the late winter/spring.
