Help Varun fight Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Donation protected
Dear Friends and well-wishers,
This is Srikanth Rama, requesting your support in providing a generous donation for my 23 year old cousin Varun, who is fighting a life-threatening battle against Acute Myeloid Leukemia. All funds generated from this campaign will be transferred to Varun's elder Sister Bhavya Teja to pay for his Leukemia treatment. Varun and Bhavya lost their parents a few years ago, and both worked hard and pursued engineering degrees, facing many challenges and hoping for a better future. This sudden tragedy shocked all of us and we are trying our best to support his treatment at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute in Hyderabad. He has been admitted to the hospital last week and the treatment costs are estimated to be upwards of 40 lakhs and is expected to rise further based on how he responds to treatment.
Varun's sister Bhavya has single-handedly supported Varun's education and living expenses while working in TCS since 2016 and is the only bread winner of the family. Varun graduated recently and joined Sonata Software as software engineer in October 2021. As they took their first steps toward a much hoped for future, on the eve of Bhavya's wedding on 14th May, Varun's health took a turn for the worse. He experienced chest pain and dizziness, prompting his admission to a nearby hospital. Blood tests revealed a severe infection, causing his platelet count to drop alarmingly. The doctors initially attributed it to fatigue from sunstroke and administered temporary treatment through fluids, allowing Varun to gather enough strength to attend his sister's wedding in Tirupati. As the wedding celebrations concluded, Varun's condition worsened. His legs began to swell, initially attributed to the effects of fluids administered during his earlier treatment. Yet, days passed without improvement. Seeking a second opinion, they consulted another doctor, who ordered a series of blood tests and scans. Having exhausted their savings on Bhavya's wedding, they found themselves with no financial support. They are both staying strong and fighting against this unexpected tragic situation.
Varun and Bhavya do not qualify for Arogya Sri treatment at Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital in Hyderabad as they are both IT employees. Even their company medical insurance coverage falls short of covering the high medical expenses to treat this form of cancer. I would like to urge you to extend a helping hand and contribute whatever you can to save Varun's life. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a huge difference in saving Varun's life and supporting Bhavya. Please join your hands to contribute towards Varun's medical expenses and give him a fighting chance against Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Your generous support will not only save Varun but will also serve as a testament to the power of love and empathy.
