Help Vi Vorderbruggen with Medical Expenses

Vi was traveling home with family and friends in a

bus on February 27th when a car swerved into

their lane, hitting the bus head on. The bus spun

and flipped into the ditch. Panic filled everyone in

the bus because Vi could not be found.

Unfortunately she was found lodged under the bus

by a window where she was sitting when the

crash occurred. David, Darrel, Lisa and a few

others on the bus began to dig out the snow

around her to get her out. She was conscious,

crying, bleeding and pleading for Jesus to help

her. The decision was made upon the arrival of the

paramedics to airlift her to Fargo, ND. She was

sedated immediately and the Nurse and Doctors

went to work to determine all of her injuries which

include: crushed ribs which punctured and

collapsed both of her lungs, bleeding on the right

side of her brain and around her right eye, multiple

fractures around her eye orbit, broken 5th

vertebrae, and bruised neck and spine. Vi has had

multiple procedures and surgeries to relieve

pressure around her brain due to bleeding, to reconstruct ribs with plates and screws, and to

repair her spine with rods and screws. More surgeries will be necessary in the coming future including one or more to reconstruct and repair her right eye orbit.

Vi is still sedated and on a ventilator. She has a

long fight ahead of her. She will be in the hospital

for an extended period of time and her needs after

her hospital stay are yet to be determined.

Darrel is staying right by Vi’s side and family is

traveling to be with her as well. Donations would

help with the cost of traveling to Fargo and meals

while staying with Vi.
