Help Vicki with her battle with leukemia

Donation protected

Mid March, my sister got sick with what she thought was the flu but in one blood test, the family was given the news Vicki has Leukemia. After spending 4.5 weeks in hospital undergoing chemo, the drs determined she would need a stem cell transplant which she is currently in the hospital for. Before this diagnosis, her husband has been on unpaid sick leave the last year while undergoing testing so i know this is financially difficult for them.

My sister has been a youth worker for 18 years and always tries to help others even if she is the one in need of help. The doctors let her know she will not likely be able to return to work for sometime (atleast a year) and even though she is able to receive disability benefits, it is only a small portion of her income.

Once out of the hospital, she will need to go back and forth to VGH for monitoring, treatments and testing.

Leukemia sucks. The medications, daily visits to vgh and other suprising expenses really add up fast.

I decided to do this go fund me so that when my sister comes home, she isn't worrying on how she is going to pay for gas, medications, bills and unexpected expenses, but rather focus on healing and getting better.

On behalf of the family, thank you for any support including prayers. Our hope is my sister comes home soon and healthy
