WJHL Interview

Please consider donating to our sister, Vicki, to help her rebuild her life after the tragic flooding in Eastern Tennessee caused by Hurricane Helene. She has lost her husband Jerry, her dog, house, cars… Essentially all that she owns and loves.

There are currently many unknowns, but Vicki lost her husband, Jerry, of 14 years of marriage in the flood waters of Nolichucky River in east Tennessee. The house was forced off the foundation and started to float down the river. They crashed through the trees and the house started to collapse forcing them to jump into the raging water. She lost hold of her dog, Batman when she submerged. She clawed up through the lumber of her house and saw her dog floating away from her. Swift-water-rescue was able to pull Vicki to safety where a neighbor, Diane Shelton wrapped her in a blanket. While sitting on the riverbank, Vicki was told her husband Jerry never surfaced. Mrs. Shelton took Vicki into her home. It was over 24 hours before Vicki was able to get a message to her family that she was alive and safe. Vicki is now staying with a sister and is just now starting to sift through the mud looking pieces of her life. The truck was found rolled over under rubbish and her car in the middle of a tomato farm, both had been vandalized.

Donations will be used to supply Vicki with food, a vehicle, clothing, and a future home.

Please pray for Vicki. Please pray that Jerry would be found.

Any donation is very much appreciated.

Vicki has been a friend for many years. Vicki is also the sister of my brother's wife, Vedette. My brother, Ron and Vedette have no internet service and are unable to create or manage a GoFundMe fundraiser.

Donations will be directly deposited into the account that Vicki determines and supplies.

If you are concerned that this might be a fraudulent page, message me using the GoFundMe messaging. I will ask Vicki or her sisters, Vedette or Val to reach out to you.

Thank you for your help!
