In Oak Cliff Accident
What When and Who:
On Friday afternoon May 17, Shamarma Mena, Leticia Avila and Vicki Tovar were struck by a hit-and-run vehicle as they unloaded their car for work in the Oak Cliff neighborhood, Dallas
Shamarma passed away upon arriving at hospital; Letty suffered 3 breaks of her right leg, ankle and foot; Vicki suffered a broken foot. Multiple surgeries and recovery time are needed for both ladies that survived.
It is my understanding that the drivers of the hit and run vehicle were possibly drinking, abandoned their vehicle, but were apprehended by the police about 4 hours later with no insurance coverage
Multiple friends and I are setting up 3 GoFundMe links to help each of their families recover from this horrible accident to these three wonderful, hardworking women who i have known for 8 years
We have set up a $10,000 GoFundMe goal for each person to help

Vicki Tovar needs help with 2 months of recovery time, therapy and unemployment. She will have medical bills of an unknown amount for her surgery and recovery. Vicki has no husband and two children ages 18/3. Relatives are assisting her with the 3 year old
