Help Victim of Accidental Shooting
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Michelle and I am raising funds for my 24 year old son Cameron.

Cameron was a victim of an accidental shooting. He was shot in the face and by the grace of god he survived. The responsible party accidentally fired the gun and shot their own hand, bullet hit bone of their hand and fragmented. One fragment entered right below Cameron's eye and lodged in his nasal cavity. 2nd fragment entered Cameron's mouth and lodged in his neck barely missing his carotid artery. After being admitted and moved to ICU a dobhoff (feeding) tube was placed in his nose to administrate medication and nutrients.

Cameron was taken to surgery and they successfully removed the fragment lodged in his nasal cavity, removed his broken teeth and placed a metal plate in his chin because his jaw bone was broken in half. Splint was inserted in his right nostril so that it did not completely close while healing. Lips and mouth were repaired best that could be done and they closed the hole where the fragment entered below his eye. A scope was done to determine the damage of his throat and to see if it was possible to remove the fragment lodged in his neck. The scope determined that the fragment created a very large tear in his throat and removing the fragment would be dangerous at that time. It needs time to heal first. He was placed on complete nothing by mouth due to the tear. Surgery was as successful as it could be.
Feeding tube was removed and he was released to go home on the 14th. We followed up with ENT on the 18th. Splint was removed from his nose and tear in his throat is healing properly.
He is being scheduled for March for surgery to remove the fragment in his neck. They are not comfortable leaving it because it is to close to the carotid artery. He will also have to have dental surgery and possibly plastic surgery on his lips and to have revision done where they closed the entry wound below his eye.
We are unsure of when they will release him to go back to work. We are very thankful that he survived this tragedy and want him to focus on healing and what is still yet to come.
I created this fundraiser to help with his daily living expenses because his journey to recovery is not over yet. Rent, electric, food, etc. We need him to focus on healing and lessen the stress of worrying how the bills are going to be paid.
We want to thank everyone for all the prayers and continued prayers!
The link below is for anyone who feels called to donate and help Cameron on the road to healing. Anything and everything is appreciated. Please continue to keep him in your prayers. Feel free to share.
(The picture of him was used in hopes that others take gun safety serious. They are not toys and if you do not know how to properly handle one, please don't put one in your hand.)
