Hi, my name is Daphne and I am asking for your help to raise funds for the people of Alegria, Cebu who are severely affected by Typhoon Odette.
My family is from Alegria and it breaks my heart to see the great devastation after the typhoon made landfall on the 16th of December, just a few days before Christmas.
Numerous houses collapsed or was blown away by the very strong winds, leaving hundreds of families homeless.
Ruined crops and very limited supply of food and drinking water place the victims at risk of starvation.
Parts of the national road crumbled to the beachfront making the municipality isolated and relief operations hard to deliver.
The amount that will be raised will be handed over to the local government so it can be properly documented and distributed to the affected families.
I am appealing to each one of you that may your generosity this season be extended to my fellow Filipinos in the other side of the world.
