Help Victims of Volcanic Eruption in Goma, DRC

The Democratic Republic of Congo, North Kivu province in the city of Goma, there are found some of the remaining active volcanos in the world. In the past decades, there have been eruptions and many people have lost their lives and properties. Most recently on May 22, 2021 the Volcano named Nyiragongo erupted in the evening hours and once again many people lost their lives and others were left homeless with no shelter, food and property. Hundreds of thousands fled their homes due to the fear of a second eruption and are now slowly coming back to their homes.

There are those who were lucky enough to find their houses still standing and others who lost everything. These people who came back only to not even find ashes of their homes because they were consumed by the Nyiragongo volcano lava, are in a great need, and need an urgent assistance. These people have lost everything and if no intervention, who knows what will happen to them. There are many kids, elderly men and women that are starving and are desperately in need of basic needs.

We are all the citizen of this world and what is happening to our follow people in Goma today, can happen to anyone anywhere in the world. We are therefore, pleading to everyone to join our cause and contribute any amount to save lives and bring hope to the hopeless.

Together we can make difference in people’s lives.

En République démocratique du Congo, au Nord-Kivu dans la ville de Goma, se trouve une chaîne des volcans encore très actifs au monde. En date du 22 Mai 2021, le volcan Nyiragongo est entré en éruption dans la soirée et de nombreuses personnes ont perdu la vie et d'autres se sont retrouvées sans abri, sans nourriture et sans aucune propriété de base. Des centaines de milliers de personnes ont fui leurs maisons par crainte d'une deuxième éruption et actuellement, elles rentrent progressivement dans les vestiges. Il y a ceux qui ont eu la chance de retrouver leurs maisons en bon état et d'autres qui ont tout perdu. Cependant plusieurs personnes Ces personnes sont dans un état d'urgence immédiat. Hommes, femmes, enfants, nouveau-nés et surtout des personnes âgées meurent de faim et se retrouvent sans abris dans la nature.

Nous sommes tous citoyens de ce monde et ce qui arrive aux rescapés de Goma aujourd'hui, peut arriver à n'importe qui n'importe où dans le monde. Nous implorons votre bonne volonté de nous joindre à notre cause et de contribuer financièrement selon vos possibilités pour sauver des vies humaines et apporter de l'espoir à quiconque est en détresse. Ensemble, nous pouvons faire la différence.

Jamuhuri ya Kidemocrasia ya Kongo, katika mkoa wa Kivu ya Kaskazini karibu na mji wa Goma, kunapatikana milima ya moto kati ya zile chache zinazo baki ulimwenguni zikiwa bado na nguvu za ku towa moto. Kwa myaka iliyopita, kulikuwepo milipuko iliyosababisha watu wengi kupoteza maisha hata na mali zao. Mwezijana mnamo tarehe 22 mwezi wa 5, 2021, mlima wa moto unawoitwa Nyiragongo ulilipuka wakati wa jioni na ukasababisha watu wengi kupoteza maisha na wengi kuachwa bila makao, chakula na mali.

Baada ya kutulia, kuna wale waliobahatika kwa kupata nyumba zao bado zingali zinasimama na wengine walipoteza kila kitu. Watu hawa ambao walirudi hawakupata tu majifu ya nyumba zao na vilivyomo, baada ya kuchomwa na kutokomezwa na mlima Nyiragongo, bali wanahitaji sana msaada wa haraka. My name is Iragena Serge, I was born and grew up in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. Together with Virunga Security Group -A native regional member organization, are inviting family and friends to fundraise money to help the people of Goma who are in desperate need of help at this crucial moment. The funds raised will be used to purchase basic needs to give hope to the most affected residents of Goma. We will coordinate with regional government and on-site charity organizations in Goma, to identify and distribute these necessities to people who need it the most.
