Dear Friends and Family,
We're letting you know that we are kicking off a campaign to help Victoria and her family, and we need your help!
You may have heard that Victoria was struck and run over by a car on November 10th, about two weeks before Thanksgiving. Victoria, a healthy girl before the brutal incident, sustained seven rib fractures, a broken knee (all ligaments torn), A fractured right arm, a dislocated left shoulder (that is unmovable), and a fractured scapula, with nearly every bone broken, Victoria will require an uncountable number of surgeries. She also suffered damages to her neck and head and is restricted to a neck brace; she also has a lacerated liver and severely damaged lungs (including a Pulmonary Embolism and
Pneumonia). She sustained burn marks and road rash from being dragged by the vehicle. Victoria's life is forever changed, and This is not the full extent of her injuries' the mental and emotional turmoil that occurs after such a traumatic incident is immeasurable. Despite the severity of her injuries, she initially faced challenges accessing the care she needed due to a lack of insurance.
We all love Victoria because she has a brave spirit and a kind and giving heart. Victoria will take the shirt off her back to ensure you're okay (she gets that from her mother), and if she can't give you anything, she will make you laugh with her funny and humorous personality. Victoria can put a smile on just about anyone's face. Ask the Nurses at Medical City Plano, and they will all agree. Even now, while battling for her life, she takes the time to learn and know everyone who is taking care of her or has come to visit her. She brings a smile to every face that she meets. Victoria is always moving and is a hard worker with fast legs that can go from point A to point B in a flash. She spends so much time at work that her coworkers have become a second family to her, every one of them finding the time to visit her in the ICU and trauma unit.
We do not know the long-term effects of the injuries today, but we hope for a full recovery.
Victoria is in for a long battle and will need countless surgeries and therapy. Every and all financial help that she gets will be useful on her journey to recovery. We aim to raise the entire $200,000 to cover some of her medical expenses, making life just a little easier for her.
