Help Violence Prevention Advocate Recover Car.

My dear friend Maria

became one of the world’s most tireless Gun Violence Prevention Advocates after the murder of her son Ricky Pike in 2013. She didn’t choose this mission but she is using her voice to make sure that gun violence doesn’t continue to devastate families and communties. She volunteers her time daily in many communities to feed, nurture and lift people up. She advocates in state and federal gun violence prevention and is a comfort to others who’ve lost loved ones to senseless gun violence. She cooks for unhomed people and gives and gives.

Recently, after parking her car returning home from more service, she was grabbed from behind in a chokehold, thrown to the ground and carjacked.

Maria lost her vehicle and many items to set up the National Chicago Gun Violence Victims Vigil. Her insurance is limited and provides no rental car replacement.

This fundraiser goal is to help Maria with a long term rental or car lease so she can continue to spread love and peace.
