Help violent crime victims recover

Donation protected
Dear family, friends and strangers,

Two of my friends, who are a couple, were violently attacked in their home May 11 by a complete stranger. C & R are some of the kindest and most compassionate human beings I know and this incident has forever marked, scarred and altered their world. Please note their names are not being named here for protection of their identities, as the man who committed this violent crime is still at large.

We want you to understand the severity of the situation, so you know what you are so graciously giving toward, as these two women will need so much to rebuild their world, their health, a new home, therapy for PTSD, and further rebuilding.

Here’s what happened, as told by my friend:

“Friday morning a man approached the backside of our home asking for yard work. It felt weird & I did inform my landlord and my partner, and then I continued on with my day. Where we live it isn’t strange for folks to walk up and ask this - this was strange because it was our back door. When I got home that afternoon I walked into our home and it was a mess. I walked further in and was attacked by the same man. My partner was with this man for 20 minutes prior to me arriving home and he assaulted her repeatedly as she tried to escape. He hit me 4 x with a metal object. And somehow, I ran, escaped, and got help. And, by the grace of God, my partner was able to get out as well, as he ran. He is still at large. This man sat in our home all day, wore my clothing, pulled weapons out, and waited to assault us.”

My friend and her partner suffered major blunt force trauma to their heads. Her partner will need surgery for a broken wrist in the coming weeks. There was significant loss to the furniture and overall items within the home. They plan to move to a new home immediately.

It will take a village to support them and we are simply attempting to build that village with this Go Fund Me Campaign.

Please consider donating from your heart and sharing with your friends, churches and groups of compassion.
