Help Violeta & Johnny After Devastating Fire Loss

Hello, my name is Alejandra Espasande and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Violeta Núñez Gorritti and her husband Johnny who lost their house and all belongings to the Pacific Palisades fire. On top of that, Violeta is unemployed as she has dedicated the past few years to fully caring for the needs of her husband Johnny who is bedridden, in very frail condition, and in need of 24-hour monitoring.

Johnny was undergoing an operation when their house burned.

Violeta is overwhelmed by the consequences of this devastating fire, which add an extra layer of tension to her already challenging life situation. She is what we call in Spanish a "luchadora." No matter how many obstacles life throws at her, she has been able to find solutions and, when needed, taken all types of odd jobs to survive. However, this situation is beyond her and for this reason, I kindly ask you to consider donating any amount, however small.

About Violeta and Johnny

Violeta is a highly respected historian, responsible for documenting the early history of Peruvian cinema. She met Johnny in 2007 while doing research at UCLA, both fell in love and married in 2008. They have lived in Pacific Palisades ever since. Although from different backgrounds (and opposite personalities!), they have built a successful marriage, a la “I Love Lucy,” and deserve to spend their golden years with much deserved peace and tranquility.
