Help Vlada Evacuate Ukraine

Will and I are working on getting Vlada out of Ukraine. Most of you likely remember we hosted her a few years ago (summer 2018), as part of Project143. If things had worked out differently, we would have adopted her.

 

Currently, our first goal is to get Vlada to Poland. From there, we hope to see her safely residing with one of our European friends in Germany, Italy, or Ireland. Ideally, Vlada would be able to stay with us in Wisconsin if we can get her this far. Any funds donated will help cover her travel and food costs. If there is funding left over, we'll ensure she uses it for necessities and potentially school. 

 

For context, Vlada is currently doing an internship on a farm approximately 80 miles east of Kyiv. She is with one other female student, and otherwise all men, as all the other women and children in the area evacuated (apparently, there was no room for her). There are very few train departure options at the moment, and all we've found so far require her to go through Kyiv. Her closest friends (in Sumy) and only living relative (grandmother in Romny)  are nowhere nearby and are unable to help her.

Note: We recently increased the goal amount due to a greater awareness of likely attorney/legal fees that will be involved moving forward.
