Help Volunteer Couple Who Lost Everything in Fire
Donation protected
Victoria partners who run a environmental volunteer organization and volunteer extensively to improve their community have lost everything in a devastating, house-gutting fire on May 4, 2020. All their possessions were lost. They have no significant savings, are injured, and are now homeless. As tenants without tenant insurance, they have no place to live nor any financial options. After spending their lives giving to their community all the money and time they had, they have been left with nothing, not even a change of clothes.
Michael is a volunteer fixture at Beacon Community Services, and Linda works for a social service agency. Together they also run the community environmental organization LoveWhereYouLiveBC. The partners used their own savings to run the costs of this organization at a loss to themselves, but produced a Canadian record-setting event with massive impacts to the local and national environmental scene.
Michael is still in hospital, with severe burns to his hands, face and legs, and damage to his lungs. Linda has been discharged but has no possessions and not even a change of clothes.
Your assistance in helping these wonderful people survive this tragic event is extremely appreciated. Please give what you can for these kind people who have given everything and lost everything.
With gratitude,
-SG on behalf of Michael and Linda of Victor St., Victoria BC
