Help Vonda Get a Kidney Transplant!

My mom, Vonda Smith, is in Stage 5 Kidney Failure and will pass away soon without a kidney transplant. She has been on dialysis and working hard to get on the transplant list for two years now.

She needs about $6,000 to cover expenses related to the transplant that the insurance doesn't cover. She has to have that money before she can be on the transplant list; it is the only thing holding her up at this point.

For your information, this is what the funds will go to. The University of Utah requires that after surgery, a patient will need to spend a month minimum within a few minutes of the hospital along with someone to take care of them 24/7. The U of U has housing available to rent for this purpose. That combined with cost of living (transportation, eating, drinking, laundry, etc) as well as money to cover the regular bills is necessary. I will be taking some time off of work to be her caregiver and will need assistance with the monthly bills.

We have been lucky to have individuals willing to donate a kidney, and the surgery will be covered through insurance. I know that if you are reading this that Vonda has likely impacted your life. I cannot imagine her being gone when we had the chance to save her, and I would hope you agree.
